Heat-Bulls Recap [4/12]

LeBron James finished with a team-high 30 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. He shot 11-for-24 from the field, and 5-for-7 from the charity stripe. Not a bad night the likely NBA MVP, right?

Close. By missing a critical late free throw in regulation, James left the door open for a Bulls victory. Had James made both free throws, Miami would have had a 4-point lead with 11 seconds remaining. Unfortunately, here on planet Earth, LeBron can’t be depended on in the final moments in certain games: he missed the front end of a pair, leaving an opportunity for the Chicago comeback.

Soon after, Bulls guard C.J. Watson drilled a 3-pointer to force overtime.

The Bulls dominated the OT session and cruised to a 96-86 victory. Chicago pretty much clinched home court in the East with today’s win (3 games clear with 7 left to play).

Interesting note on ‘over-reacting’: Heat 13-9 in last 22 w/ 1 home loss. Thunder 13-9 in last 22 w/ 5 home losses. Yet, Heat are the ones in big trouble? Let’s relax people, and just let things unfold.
